I’m a Pepper, You’re a Pepper….
This little guy has been hanging around my yard the last few days. After much research, Lisa and I think it’s an immature Vermilion Flycatcher. We’re not 100% sure whether it’s a male or female. I’m leaning toward male.
I love it that he's sitting on the Dr. Pepper can. What a perfect perch for this little fellow. Here is a link to a bird site that I have recently found. He looks close enough to the example of the Vermillion Flycatcher that they show that I think you're probably right. I especially like the site because of the link to bird voices/songs http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Vermilion_Flycatcher/id
Oh...that is an adorable shot. I'm pretty sure the little guy is just that....a little Vermillion Flycatcher....his color is just coming out. I love that we live in the same area and can compare notes. I'm hoping that when my trees get a little larger that it will provide some wonderful areas for this bird to hang out. That would be a real treat. Well, we've already attracted more birds this year than I can count...so I hope to keep extending the invites:) I'm excited....it's supposed to rain this weekend!:)
