The saddest thing….

happened today.  I turned on my camera to look at the latest pictures I had on my memory card and it said….

                                      FOLDER CONTAINS NO IMAGES

How sad is that???  Always before I never went anywhere without my camera in hand, taking shots of all kinds of interesting (well at least to me) stuff.  I find myself out and about all the time now without my camera.  Dang broken foot!!!

On another note…does it bother anyone else when the word verification thing says you spelled the word wrong?  I feel offended.  I want to see the word again and see what I did “wrong”. Although in my heart of hearts I don’t believe I could have been wrong.  Come on…prove it to me…I want to see. Not that I’m a little OCD or anything.

And since we’re talking about things like this, has anyone ever seen a duck land on land?  I’ve been racking my brain to see if I have that image filed anywhere…nope.  I know it must happen though. Do they do a little run as they’re coming in? Or do they skid in the dirt like they do on the water?

I think I need to get out of the house….

I hate when that happens. I was afraid of losing the ones I have in my camera now in the frazzled state I am in right now so I downloaded them last night before I did anything else. I so want to take off the Word Verification but I get spammed alot so for now I am leaving it on. I hope your day gets much better.

Aww, an empty memory card is sad!

When I type a captcha wrong, for some reason I'm always surprised that it doesn't let me try the same one again.

Oh no. Is it the camera or the card?

Ciel - the problem is that I'm not remembering to take my camera when I do get out. :(

I've sorta been in the same boat lately, no new pictures. I've been robbing the archives for something interesting. I'm trying to picture a duck landing on land. For some reason the thought of those webbed feet skidding in does not produce a picture that would be fun for the ducks. I see them doing backward somersaults. Ducks should stick to acrobatics above water, don't you think?

And that captcha stuff, sometimes I can't even figure out those crazy letters so I ask for a new word (who said these were words anyway?). And, you guessed it, it's always worse. I think they just give it to you after the third try because at this point they KNOW you're a human!

Dear Magpie,
So sorry to know about the camera, it's really a problem!
I feel the same as you about the word verification.Anyway I need to keep it because I was receiving lots of spam and it's not cool at all. :(
Please try do not be stressed so much, you are so special and I'm sure that today will be a beautiful day for you!
Lots of love to your heart!

To see ducks landing what about a cartoon channel? :-)
Hoping you can get of the house pretty soon with two feet on the ground and a folder ready to download.

Hi there! pretty sure ducks land as if on water skis. Don't have a pic for you, sorry.

I went to Kenya and had two cameras forgotten or stolen. Where we were provided no place to buy one. As an artist and writer I threw in the towel. Nice joke, God. I completed the trip forcing myself to use my mind for my camera telling myself--I HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS. I memorized shadow and brilliance. I colored in the lines in by head. I reviewed the wonders in my head each night. The most lovely thing of the whole experience is how I can still feel rain, hear the wind, the trickle of sweat down my back when I "took my pictures". Believe me, I grieved not having my camera, but the exercise I was not bereft. It also gave me no lens to hide behind--very hard for me. As with most hardships, eventually I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Please don't take this as didactic-ism. The experience took me aback in so many ways I just wanted to share.
