Timing is everything….

Well is was bound to happen sooner or later…I was holding out for later…much later, but I’ve already postponed making these changes for long enough. Went to the doctor on Friday…the 13th…that should have been my first clue that good things were not to come.  She was very kind and we talked about many things, but the upshoot is that my cholesterol and triglycerides are very elevated and my blood sugar has also been creeping up.  Greg’s numbers are too high also and we’re not doing Nicole any favors with the example we’re setting.DSC_0287 Changes need to happen…now.

So here is our cleaned up fridge and we’re all turning over a new leaf. (Pay no attention to the chocolate and butterscotch chips…they’ve been in there for the two years we’ve lived here.) So if you call and we’re a little cranky, please forgive us. I’m pretty sure I’m knee deep in Dr. Pepper withdrawals.

DSC_0288 Remember that part about timing is everything….well we’re headed into the holidays and of course what does Mom decided she needs to cook today…..DSC_0289 You should all pray for us….seriously…..

Geez, no wonder people hate going to the doctor. Turning over a new leaf is easy. I've done it hundreds of times. LOL.

Baby steps.....one day at a time :) And pumpkin is good for you!!! The choc chips didn't get me, it was the 4 different tubs of margarine!!! It's good that it will be a group effort so you're not alone........(are we really ever alone?!!!) I think the biggest culprit in your house is the soda (just as I typed that, I could hear Richard opening a can in the other room!), if you can conquer that, you can do anything. You go girl....I'll say a pray for ya :)

Once you get past the hard part, though, you really will feel better! Take fish oil. I dropped my over-the-top cholesterol by 52 points with better food and fish oil capsules! Good luck!

Thanks ladies..all good advice. I'm taking an Omega 3,6,9. Hopefully that will help and my doctor recommended niacin for the triglycerides.
Lisa..you know why there are 5 tubs of margarine!! Mom had a coupon!!!
