Mom is finally home. This has been quite a week. I think we’re all pretty tired and glad that she’s home safe and sound.
When we started this journey, no one knew how involved it would end up being. The surgery was delayed over two hours because of the surgery that came before hers. That should have given us our first clue. She was to spend only one night in the hospital, but ended up staying three nights due to difficulties in getting the bleeding stopped. We had trouble getting her meals started because a doctor hadn’t ordered a dietary plan. They weren’t very good about getting her medications when she needed them. The food was good once it finally started coming and the nurses and dialysis techs couldn’t have been any better (for the most part). One nurse left quite a bit to be desired.
This is the sunset from her room last night….
And this is her smiling face back at home in her favorite chair…
Thank all our friends and family who have said prayers and shown concern for her wellbeing. There’s no place like home….

The sun set photo...I don't know how to describe it, I'm just out of words.
You would think that for the amount that a hospital room costs, that you would get gourmet food and A1 service.
Best wishes to your mom!
I'm glad Mom is home and recovering. About your love of birds: I had a visit yesterday from a rufous-sided towhee, the first I've ever seen. You will understand my excitement. Have a wonderful weekend.
Whew. Glad your mom is home and recovering. She certainly looks happy in her headphones and her chair! I am finding hospital care is getting worse and worse. I've noticed getting meds on time, or at all, can be a challenge. I hope things change SOON! xxoo to you and your mom!
