What do you think?

I have these two pictures of birds – one taken at the Estrella Community Lake and the other in my front yard.  They are not the best pictures, but I hope you can see them well enough to help me decide.

I believe they are both of the same type of bird – a Western Kingbird.  I feel pretty certain of that decision with the photo from the lake, but not as sure of the one from my yard. What do you all think?

They were the same size and shape.  Sorry about the bad angle from the yard. They don’t always want to sit and pose for me. :)

According to my Audobon bird book, it looks to me like you're right. I love trying to ID birds. Did you google images for it? You got my curiosity going. Off to Google now...

P.S. How did the tests go?

I'm no help. I'm a bird idiot! I only like them from a distance! I like dead ones even worse than live ones and once I had a dog that brought a dead one in the house. I almost had to call a real estate agent to put the house on the market and then realized there was no way it would sell fast enough!

Chris - I don't have any results back yet. Thank you for asking.
I have this neat foldout from Waterford Press that shows Phoenix area birds and that's where I saw the picture of the Western Kingbird.

Kathy - You are too funny!!! My SIL's cats are always bringing birds in her house - some alive, some dead.

Jingle - Thank you! :)
