Grand Opening….

This is the American Sports Center located on Avondale Boulevard in Avondale.  It has volleyball courts, basketball courts and indoor soccer fields.

The facility is open, but there are still things to be done.  All the outside landscaping and some work on the parking lot need to be completed.

Basketball and volleyball courts….

Indoor soccer….they were still planting the “turf” the day we were there.

It’s quite something to see when driving by on the I-10.  Eye-catching color is what this place is all about.

Concessions will be busy and laughter will bounce off the walls soon.

The complex is named for Randall McDaniel who once went to school in Avondale.  It sounds like the kind of place he would like to be associated with.  He’ll be there signing autographs when they have their full-blown opening.

We need more places like this on the west side to keep our kids headed in the right direction.  I wish them much success in their endeavors.

What a fab sports complex. You're right ~ we need to spend more of our tax dollars on facilities for our youth.

Wow, that exterior is striking! I love brightly-colored buildings-- there's enough in life that is already dreary. This looks like a great place for kids to go.
