Connections Made – Part 2…

Today I’m sharing with you another connection I have made during my blogging experience.  Pat lives in Canada, but she and her husband have a second home in Surprise, AZ.  That’s a town not too far from where I live.  I can’t exactly remember how Pat and I came to follow one another’s blogs, but I’m so glad we did.

Recently, she posted about getting to unpack some of her treasures while in the process of moving.  What do you think I spied in the seventh picture down?

A music box very similar to the one above that was my Mom’s.  It was like the world didn’t feel so big.

My Aunt Jean (Mom’s older sister) gave this music box to Mom while she was still in high school back in the late 40’s.  Pat’s treasure belonged to her Dad’s mother.  Isn’t it wonderful the little pieces of ourselves we can see in others?

This is a gorgeous piece of art. The blue has a nice deep tone. It looks very special and is probably worth some change. When the Antiques Road show comes to town, you should see how much it is worth....just so you say, "Ohhhh!!! No way!!!" And then you'd have some screen time:) But seriously, what a wonderful piece to have as a reminder of your mother. And that's worth much more than any pricetag.

Oh - there it is. The flower in the top of mine is a little bit different but otherwise they're the same. Isn't it amazing the connections we make with virtual strangers. We can be strangers no longer. Blogging is great. I'm so glad I've met you.

What a coincidence! But is there any coincidence after all? I have never seen such a music box before.

You really are reminiscing with connections and through your Father's eyes. And it is great isn't it.
I remember a similar music box at my late MIL. I wonder what happened to it. Hmmmmm.. MB

Pretty music box, I've never seen one like it, but I did have an Aunt Jean, my dad's mother's sister, who I was very fond of. :)

Oooh...I love that! Does it have a crank? My dad had a tiny one from when he was a baby...in the 30's. It's similar with a crank. How fun that you both have similar ones. It's lovely!
