This is the time of year here in Arizona when the flowers are so beautiful. It won’t be long though and the heat will become too much for them to withstand. So I’m going to enjoy them while I can…
Bristle Brush…that’s the only name I know this one by.

Can you tell me what is the difference between a prickly pear and a beaver tail? Are they the same thing? I have always wondered about that. You got that right about the weather. I was out on the patio all day yesterday just knowing the heat will be here too soon.
Is bristle brush the same as bottle brush?
Love the hibiscus especially.
Tracy - from what I can find, Beavertail is a type of prickly pear. The shot I have here does seem to fit the description of the beavertail from what this website says: http://offroadinghome.djmed.net/resources/plants1.htm
But what I always called a beavertail would get very tall and not have many needles. Maybe there are different kinds of beavertail too...does it ever end?? :)
Kathy - Yes, they are the same thing and actually I believe I was in too big of a hurry to post this morning (had to run my daughter to school) because if I had thought longer about the name, I would have called it a bottlebrush bush. I think it's actually called a Little John or something like that.
