Today Tracy and I met with Kathy, a new blogging friend of ours, for the first time. We decided we would go for a walk around the Historic Roosevelt District in downtown Phoenix. In retrospect, we might have wanted to do this a little earlier in the year. We did get a wonderful couple of hours in before we decided the warm weather was winning and we should head home. I have never taken this stroll before and was amazed by the truly lovely architecture found in these buildings. Some have been lovingly restored and others are sad with neglect.
Kathy can tell you accurately the name, history, and owners of so many of the homes in the neighborhood. I was too caught up in picture taking and drooling to retain much of the information. There were details that just grabbed my eye.
Then, of course, you know there had to be some flowers popping up around the place….
This jasmine smelled like heaven…so sweet.
I’ll post some more photos tomorrow. There were just so many things to see. I so enjoyed my time with Kathy and Tracy. Be sure and check out her blog…it’s listed in my blog list – Kathy Goes a Ramblin’. This blogging community I’ve become a part of is a wonderful place filled with special and talented people. I’m looking forward to “walking with friends” again soon.

Wow, I am really impressed with the zoom on your camera. It did a great job on the detail and at quite a distance too, I must say. I like your picture of the single cosmos. Maybe I'll do one of mine tomorrow. It was fun! I think it is so funny that we forgot to take pictures of each other!
very nice. love those doors and the intricate details you were able to capture...neat that you live close enough to meet up with another blogger....
What a fun morning that was, too! Nancy, looks like your new camera works great! How many photos did you end up with? :-)
Kathy - Yes, we all three had cameras in our hands and didn't get a picture of each other!!
Brian - Thank you and it is very nice to get to meet other bloggers, especially as pleasant as the ones we've met. It's a kind and supportive blogging world!
Tracy - I do really like the new camera. I think I took around 58 pictures. Some were definite throw aways though. Did you enjoy the game too?
