Today Greg, Nicole and I took a long drive in the country. We headed out through Buckeye, Arlington, Palo Verde and all the way to the Gillespie Dam.
“The Gillespie Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Gila River between the towns of Buckeye and Gila Bend, Arizona. The dam was constructed during the 1920s for primarily irrigation purposes. A portion of the dam failed unexpectedly in 1993 during unusually heavy rains.” Wikipedia
This is what it looked like today. We walked out on that point of land. It was eerie. The water was moving so fast. The change from the last time we were there was amazing.
We climbed up a big hill or small mountain (depending on who is telling the story) and could see all over the valley. It was an awesome view.
Everywhere we went, was so green. It is unbelievable especially to those of us who have been around through the drought of the last few years.
We had a wonderful morning. The weather was beautiful, the scenery breathtaking, and the company perfect.
