Love, Water Drops, and Nasturtium Leaves…

DSC_0052

Today Nicole and I spent a wonderful hour or more just playing with water drops and nasturtium leaves.  It wasn’t planned…it just happened.

We sat up a couple of angles on the camera and tried a couple different delivery systems for the water.

It was a beautiful sharing moment. Time just kind of stands still when we’re together like this. I don’t often allow myself to do these things. There is always “adult” stuff I need to be doing or should be doing…laundry, dishes, cooking, bills, cleaning, and on and on the list goes. I’m happiest when I let go of all of those responsibilities and relax and enjoy my world…I guess that’s what being a kid is all about. I don’t think it’s smart of us to quit being kids….not forever anyway.

In the process of doing all of this, she decided she wanted to make a fountain with the leaves.  We talked about several designs and opted for quick and easy. DSC_0054 (2)The water is dropped from above and then beads up and falls from leaf to leaf until it lands in the shot glass. We had a blast playing with this and she made a video of it….really neat.  She’s going to take it one step further and put together a presentation for extra credit in science.  She has questions and she’s thinking and that’s a good thing.

I must admit that maybe we carried the kid thing a little to far and things did get a little out of hand…
